We are an eclectic group of humans and animals (horses, goats, cats, chickens, cows and our certified therapy dog, Bruno) who work together to restore joy and balance to your physical and emotional self. It certainly beats therapy in an office with four walls!

What is AAT?

Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) is the planned inclusion of an animal in a client’s counseling treatment plan. Animals non-judgmental affection can contribute to the development of trust, self-esteem, ego strength, confidence and attachment to people. They improve our mood, take our mind off of our troubles for a little while, stimulate conversation, and reduce anxiety, agitation and sadness. And guarantee putting a smile on your face!

Meet Kathy Hulley, MA, LPC

Kathy is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been in the field for 20+ years. She jokes that she practiced on her family and friends long before receiving her degree! Kathy is passionate about horses and teenagers. She loves combining the energy of both in the therapeutic setting. She and Bruno are members of the Professional Therapy Dogs of Colorado Association. Kathy has volunteered with the National Sports Center for the Disabled Therapeutic Riding and Ski Programs, a variety of school intervention programs and has spoken on the topic of bullyproofing your school. When not working, Kathy enjoys horseback riding, spending time with her husband of almost 40 years, and children and grandchildren. She loves to be outdoors, soaking up the Colorado sunshine and bluebird skies - in any way she can.
